The Edina Chamber is pleased to welcome Dr. William McGuire Owner, Minnesota United FC and Former CEO UnitedHealth Group.

Minneapolis will be home to the newest Major League Soccer team in 2018. Along with the team will be a new open-air soccer stadium in Minneapolis. The winning bid for the expansion team came from a partnership group led by Bill McGuire. Join us as we learn more about what the new team and stadium means for the Twin Cities and more about the exciting future. Dr. McGuire owns the North American Soccer League’s Minnesota United. Dr. McGuire completed medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas. As Chairman and CEO of United Health Group, Dr. McGuire grew the health care company from $400 million in annual revenue to more than $70 billion in annual revenue. Dr. McGuire took ownership of Minnesota United FC in January 2013. Committed to the community, Dr. McGuire ‘s philanthropic efforts include donations to the University of Florida, Guthrie Theater, Walker Art Center and Gold Medal Park.
